FOUNDERS

We’re Mac & Cat

After operating a Public House, Restaurant & Wedding Venue in East London for many years, we both decided to leave the Chaos behind, and move to the Cairngorms. Malcolm’s family come from Aberdeen and Glasgow, and we have always loved and spent a lot of our free time in the area, and after purchasing our house in 2022, it did not take a great deal of persuasion to move to Glenlivet full time with our beautiful dog Blossom.

Our aim is to create a small bespoke catering company, that delivers Restaurant food to your home, holiday-let, or cabin and to cater for private dinners and events. All our food is homemade in Glenlivet, using local produce and suppliers.

About Mac

I am a former professional Musician having played the Clarinet from the age of 7. I joined the army in 1999 and became a member of The Band of The Coldstream Guards where I reached the position of Principal Clarinet before leaving in 2007.

On leaving the Army, I went back into the hospitality industry where I had worked on and off part time from a young age.
In 2008 the opportunity arose to travel to East Africa, where I became General Manager of a Hotel and Diving resort on a small Island called Pemba in the middle of the Indian Ocean, where I worked and lived for 3 years.

It was there that I met Catherine, who at the time was working as a Diving instructor in Malta, but came to work in Pemba for the summer, and to collect her future husband!

On our return to England we settled into a small Pub in South East London that we operated for 5 or so years, making a lot of friends and doing a lot of cooking along the way. During our 12 years in business we tried to create the best possible food and service we could, learning and creating a great deal along the way.

Our final pub was a Juggernaut of a venue, set on the edge of Victoria Park in East London. Weddings and functions for 100-200 people, busy weekends with hundreds of covers everyday became normal, but after buying our house in Glenlivet in 2022, our hearts were always hundreds of miles away in a cottage in the Glenn where we now live.

About Cat

I started working in hospitality at 14, in a cafe in my hometown of Southport. I became assistant manager of a pub in Manchester when I was 22.

.

But, I had a plan to travel the world……. so I did!

This was when I fell in love with Scuba Diving, taking my first dive on The Great Barrier Reef. At 24 I returned home to Southport and became General Manager of a beautiful canal side pub/restaurant. However diving was always on my mind, so I moved to Malta and trained to become a diving instructor. I lived and worked there for just over a year, then took a job on Pemba Island in the middle of the Indian Ocean during the Maltese winter.

I never would have thought that here would be where I would meet the person I would marry!

I am so proud of what Malcolm and I then achieved running our businesses in London playing a big part in making so many couple’s wedding day the best day of their lives. But like Malcolm, my heart soon became attached to Scotland, so here we are!
